Cuban Son (pronounced 'sone' like 'tone') is rooted in the acoustic dance music of Cuba.
TROVADORO brings together the Pacific Northwest's finest players of Cuban Son music to perform original compositions in traditional styles. Like Cuban troubadours new and old, TROVADORO evokes deep currents of the human heart and soul with strings, percussion and song. So let's travel on a musical path of innovative and authentic notes of life on La Isla de Cuba.
Guided by Kiki Valera, Santiago de Cuba's master of the Cuban Cuatro, TROVADORO features Justin Maggart on lead vocals & maracas, Javier Marú on guitar & vocals, and Steve Smith on bongos & bell.
